Dear Water Blogmistress,

I am writing because I need advice in regards to a tap-related dilemma I’m having. I love Portland’s tap water so, so, so much and I find fellow tap-water enthusiasts… well, I’ll just say it… they’re hot. People who drink and love Portland’s tap water are hot! They are forward thinking, environmentally aware and uber-healthy looking with all that delicious Bull Run hydrating their skin, body and brains. Plus, I’m not going to lie, I’m a total cheap-skate…and Portland’s tap water is CHEAP! 748 gallons for $2.08? Other than free ice cream night at Ben & Jerry’s, I can’t think of any better deals!

I have a problem, however. I have been seeing this guy who disdains tap water for no reason. He won’t even try water from the tap and even goes as far as to bathe and brush his teeth with bottled water. I know that I could fall for Bottled Water Billy if he would just embrace Portland’s tap water but as is, I feel hopeless.

Is there any chance for us?

Dear BBB,

RUn for your life! Portland’s tap water rules!

BWB is such a drip! Bottled water certainly has its time and place (like in contamination events, near-death situations and emergencies)but if BWB is willing to squander your hard earned dollars on spendy bottled water for bathing and brushing his teeth when the real deal is available at the kitchen tap, I’m concerned about what else this sort of capricious spending habit could lead to… mid-life crisis sports cars, fur coats, a yacht, perhaps?

Take a stand and tell Silly Billy, “I Only Drink Tap Water,” because, “From forest to faucet, the Portland Water Bureau delivers the best drinking water in the world!”
